Weather in Istria in July: Temperature, Sea & Tips
July is high summer in southern Istria. Daytime temperatures usually reach around 30 °C, and at night it only cools to about 18 to 19 °C. With around eleven hours of sunshine a day, July is the sunniest month; rain is rare and often comes as a short thunderstorm. The sea is about 25 °C. This is peak season: beaches, car parks and restaurants are busy, and boat trips run almost every day. In Pula, the long-established Pula Film Festival takes place in the Arena (9 to 16 July in 2026). If you go to the beach early in the morning and spend the midday heat in the shade or in your air-conditioned accommodation, you will enjoy the summer at its most relaxed. In the evening, the atmosphere on the promenades of Medulin and Pula is especially lovely.
